Well - due to channel overcrowding by my neighbors, I had to buy an 802.11n router. I found a good deal on the D-Link DIR-615 - and, for the most part, it's been great.
However - FFXI had an issue. When I connected to FFXI any wireless client - it would hang up in about 2 minutes.
I finally solved this issue by delving into the DIR-615 settings. It wasn't Port Forwarding or UPnP - that was all set correctly. Instead - it was a NAT Endpoint Filtering setting.
By default, the DIR-615 had TCP Endpoint Filtering set to "Port And Address Restricted". Instead, it needed to be set to "Address Restricted". Once I switched that setting, FFXI works fine - from all of my clients - PS2/3, Xbox 360, & PC.
If you have a D-Link, you can find this setting under Advanced --> Firewall Settings. Other 802.11n wireless access points have similar settings.
A slight update. I definitely did not register in my previous attempt I mentioned last post.
I just completed it - for real this time. After you enter in your information, you will get a chance to confirm it. Since the previous time I tried it, I did not confirm it, I didn't register.
Turn steadfast you can be found. This is where SEO (Search appliance optimisation) comes into play. Being found is half the argument when it comes to making or breaking a rummage sale, SO make confident you can be searched, seen and found. Manually submit your website to search engines such as Google and the problematic directory.
